ABOUT ME/BIO

I am a Doctoral Level Clinical Psychologist, American trained and licensed as well as an American myself. Learning about ourselves is a life-long process. When life’s challenges occur, these can create moments of significant self-discovery and growth. Often, we can find challenges in work, relationships, friendships, and life transitions. These challenges can cause significant anxiety, stress, and uncertainty. Additionally, when have difficulty navigating these challenges it can lead to a feeling of being stuck or unsure what to do next. Sometimes we can find ourselves stuck in the present due to past difficulties. In these moments, therapy can be helpful and beneficial for you to identify how you became stuck and how we can move forward with a life worth living. I believe that all humans are deserving of compassion and the freedom to be themselves and live a meaningful and enriching life of their own making. My goal is to help those who come see me to identify barriers that are preventing them from living that meaningful life and to help them work towards it. Finally, I specialize in working with women’s and men’s issues and I believe in an accepting approach with validation to help individuals have a more authentic sense of self while addressing any difficulties that may be hindering them from the life they desire. I am trained in numerous methods and I have a large toolbox of skills and strategies. When you come to see me, I mindfully identify strategies that best suits your needs and goals. I only use evidence-based practices and pride myself in following the newest and strongest research within the field. Finally, I approach therapy with a non-judgmental attitude and treat everyone with compassion and understanding so that therapy is a warm and welcoming environment where you feel safe to work on challenging aspects of your life. I received my Doctor of Psychology from the Institute for Graduate Psychology at Widener University in Pennsylvania. This highly rigorous program is the longest running doctorate of psychology program in the United States. As an integrated program, educational and real-world training elements include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic framework, humanistic theories, and others. Additionally, I received my Master’s in Education from Widener University where I specialized in sexuality and relationship issues and disorders. The sexuality program at Widener is one of the few accredited sexuality-based programs in the United States. Its aim is to train individuals to work with a myriad of relationship and sexuality issues, relationship difficulties, and other sensitive issues related to coupling and relationships. It focuses on evidence-based practices and the latest research.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process where the goal is to help you live an enriching life. You are an expert in your own life and I am an expert in Psychology, together we work together to help you identify any barriers or challenges and move past them so that you can have a life of purpose and value. My job is to not tell you what to do but to help you identify your own goals and pathways to those goals. As our needs and goals change, so should therapy. Thus, I view myself as flexible and integrative with numerous methods. I believe that therapy should be nonjudgmental and supportive while also challenging you and encouraging positive growth.
WHY I AM SPECIALIZED IN THIS FIELD
I came to psychotherapy because I love helping people shine and find fulfilling and thriving lives. I grew up in a very small community in the States and I saw how people can become stuck or stagnant in their own lives and there was not help available to these individuals and I saw how they would suffer. I want to support people in finding meaning and happiness in their own ways. Additionally, I am specialized in sex therapy and working with sexuality topics. This is a field that I am very passionate about because there is such misinformation that fuels judgments, shame, and negativity around oneself and their bodies. It is because of this shame and fear that people often do not seek help and my goal is to provide a nonjudgmental and support space to help those with sexuality issues navigate these particularly sensitive topics.
WHAT I SAY TO PEOPLE WHO FEEL NERVOUS OR HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THERAPY/ASSESSMENT
Every client is different and offers a unique experience. Each and every one of the people I see have their own stories, strengths, and struggles. All of my clients offer their own unique perspective and I genuinely enjoy getting to know and help each person. When people come to therapy, it is typically because something is not working in their life and I love being able to be a part of their life and helping to support them and making their life more workable and meaningful. Being able to witness and be a part of someone's transition from a difficult place to a place of success makes my work as a therapist incredibly rewarding.
SLIDING SCALE OR PRO-BONO
I do offer sliding scale and pro-bono but it is on a needs basis. I do keep a waitlist for those wanting reduced fees. Pro-bono and reduced fees are often offered on a limited basis.

I would love to connect with you!
