I am an Arab-American Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of international experience working with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of psychological disorders, challenges related to expatriate life, and complex relationship dynamics. After completing graduate education and clinical training in Special Education and Clinical Psychology in Washington, D.C., I relocated to Dubai 18 years ago, where I have served as Clinical Director at two leading mental health centers while maintaining a private practice. I am licensed in both Washington, D.C., and Dubai, and offer in-person therapy as well as online consultations to a global clientele.
Grounded in classical psychodynamic training, my approach emphasizes ethical integrity, trauma-informed care, and cultural competence. I provide evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families, and work extensively with diverse populations, including local and expatriate communities, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ clients. My clinical practice addresses a broad spectrum of issues, including expatriate adjustment, relationship conflict, intimacy and communication difficulties, complex trauma, addiction, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and major life transitions. I also work with individuals affected by natural disasters, war, and cross-cultural conflict, and consult with both local and international humanitarian organizations on crisis response and psychosocial recovery.
As a Certified Treating Clinician in Narcissistic Abuse and Antagonistic Relational Stress, I specialize in supporting individuals impacted by relational abuse and high-conflict dynamics. My work prioritizes emotional safety and family well-being throughout conflict resolution. I offer pre-marital, marital, pre-divorce, and post-divorce counseling, with a focus on parenting plans, separation agreements, and family mediation.
Of particular interest is my work in emerging psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Through advanced training and certification with Fluence International, I provide expertise in harm reduction, preparation, and integration support for individuals exploring non-ordinary states of consciousness. By integrating psychodynamic principles with a bio-psycho-socio-cultural lens, I help clients process transformative experiences safely and meaningfully, while honoring indigenous traditions and personal values.
