Inventory for a Balanced Life

Inventory for a Balanced Life is the work of Françoise Bourzat, a consciousness guide, somatic therapist, and author of Consciousness Medicine: Indigenous Wisdom, Entheogens, and Expanded States of Consciousness for Healing and Growth. Drawing from decades of study with Mazatec healers and her work bridging indigenous wisdom with Western psychology, Bourzat offers a grounded approach to transformation rooted in mindfulness, integration, and embodied awareness.

In Consciousness Medicine, Bourzat introduces a holistic model which includes Five Dimensions of a Balanced Life: Body, Mind, Spirit, Community, and Environment. It is a model that recognizes healing and wholeness as dynamic and interconnected processes. Her framework emphasizes that expanded states of consciousness are most meaningful when integrated into daily life, through self-reflection and conscious living.

The Inventory for a Balanced Life is a self-assessment tool based on this model. It invites individuals to explore each of the five dimensions, identify areas of imbalance, and create intentional actions for growth. The inventory can be used personally or as a companion by therapists, coaches, or facilitators. The inventory offers a clear and compassionate structure for guiding oneself or others toward greater balance, integration, and authenticity in the journey of personal development.
