ABOUT ME/BIO

I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor, originally trained in the United Kingdom. With over 10 years of experience supporting children, young people and families across educational, therapeutic and community settings, I have worked in special educational needs (SEN) schools, private mental health clinics and multidisciplinary teams, working closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and other healthcare professionals. My clinical work includes supporting children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental differences, anxiety, low mood, trauma, emotional and behavioural dysregulation, self-esteem and confidence difficulties, academic pressure, family challenges, life transitions, self-harm and complex interpersonal dynamics. I am passionate about helping children and young people feel genuinely seen, heard and understood. I strive to create a warm and supportive space where they can bring every part of themselves without fear of judgement, explore their experiences safely, and leave therapy feeling more confident, connected and capable of navigating life’s challenges.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU
I work with children and young people aged 5–18 who may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, emotional or behavioural difficulties, self-esteem, friendships and relationships, school or academic pressure, family changes, grief and loss, trauma, neurodivergence, self-harm or difficulties managing overwhelming emotions.

My approach is warm, child-centred, trauma-informed and neuroaffirming. Rather than expecting you or your child to fit one particular type of therapy, I adapt the way I work to the individual young person and what they need.

For younger children, therapy doesn't always mean sitting down and talking. Play, art, stories, sand tray, imagination and creative activities can provide a natural way for children to communicate feelings and experiences that they may not yet have the words for. With teenagers, sessions may involve more conversation, alongside practical strategies and creative approaches where helpful.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including attachment-based, psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural approaches, as well as mindfulness, emotional regulation strategies and psychoeducation. In simple terms, this means we can explore both what you are experiencing now and what might be contributing to it, while developing ways to understand and manage difficult emotions.

Most importantly, I aim to create a space where young people feel safe, understood and able to be themselves, without judgement or pressure.
WHY I AM SPECIALIZED IN THIS FIELD
I have always been particularly drawn to working with children and young people because I believe that having a safe and supportive space to understand yourself during childhood and adolescence can have a meaningful impact on how you navigate relationships, challenges and emotions later in life.

I am a UK-trained Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor, with over 10 years of experience supporting children, young people and families across educational, therapeutic and community settings. My experience includes working in SEN schools, private mental health settings and multidisciplinary teams alongside professionals including Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

Over the course of my career, I have supported young people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, neurodivergence, self-esteem and confidence difficulties, academic pressure, family challenges, self-harm and complex relational difficulties.

My specialist training includes an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents and Families from the University of Roehampton, alongside a BSc in Psychology. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a licensed Social Counsellor with the Community Development Authority (CDA).

My experience has reinforced for me that children and young people do not all communicate in the same way. Some will want to talk, while others may communicate through play, creativity, stories or relationships. This is why I have developed a flexible, child-centred approach that allows me to meet each young person where they are.
WHAT I SAY TO PEOPLE WHO FEEL NERVOUS OR HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THERAPY/ASSESSMENT
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, particularly for a young person who may not understand why they have been referred or who may feel worried about what therapy will involve.

I often reassure young people that they don't need to arrive knowing exactly what they want to talk about, and they don't have to have the “right” words. Therapy isn't about being judged, getting into trouble or being told what to do. It is a space where we can work things out together, at a pace that feels comfortable.

I also want parents to know that reaching out for support doesn't mean that you have failed your child or that something is “wrong” with them. Sometimes children and young people simply need another safe adult who can help them make sense of what they are experiencing.

My aim is to create a space where young people can be themselves without judgement or pressure, while working collaboratively with parents and caregivers. You don't have to wait until things feel overwhelming before asking for help. Sometimes having the opportunity to talk, play, explore and be understood can make a real difference.

I would love to connect with you!
