ABOUT ME/BIO

I am a UK trained and CDA licenced psychotherapist who believes wholeheartedly in the ability of therapy to improve people's lives. I have worked in the UK and Dubai supporting survivors of abuse, students in schools to overcome academic pressures and other teens to adults in navigating life's challenges. I am very socially and culturally aware, travelling and experiencing different cultures is a great passion of mine. I believe therapy, at its core, is about non-judgement, giving someone a safe space to reflect on their experiences, and working to understand someone's unique lived experience. If I can offer this to my clients then they will be able to know and understand themselves better and move towards positive change.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU
I am trained mainly in the person-centred approach, a modality which believes the relationship between therapist and client to be the most important factor in allowing positive change. I will work hard to earn your trust, to understand you and offer you a safe space where you don't feel judged. Through that you will be able to really explore what life is like for you, and how you feel about the people and events in your life. It could be that you want to have a better relationship with someone in your life, to figure out why you are feeling overwhelmed, to process a traumatic life event, or maybe the strategies you have used before don’t seem to be working anymore. I use helpful psychoeducation tools, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), that should hopefully shine a light on why you are feeling the way you do and give you insights into how you to cope and move forwards.
WHAT I SAY TO PEOPLE WHO FEEL NERVOUS OR HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THERAPY/ASSESSMENT
It's a brave step to decide you would like to engage with therapy. But for a lot of people it may bring worries or a feeling of embarrassment or maybe even shame. These are all really natural (and common) responses for anyone trying therapy for the first time. If that's you and you're apprehensive about starting I would also suggest give it a go. Come for your first session and see how it feels, one of the most common words I hear from clients after their first session is 'relief', that they have had a space to get things off their chest without being judged. You don't need to know where to start either, I can guide you through the process.

I would love to connect with you!
