Do you sometimes feel at a loss when starting your EFT journey with a new couple? We know how it can feel. So much to cover and seemingly so little time. This workshop is a step-by-step guide through the first 4 to 5 sessions of EFT couple therapy – the first joint session with the couple, individual sessions with each partner and the feedback session. You will revise the theory and put it into practice. You will get a chance to watch us in action while watching session recordings. Join us to strengthen your EFT assessment process skills.
Your takeaways
- Strengthening your EFT Step 1 & 2 skills
- A set of questions for the initial interview
- A set of questions for the individual sessions
- A clear structure of the feedback session
- Clarity on when EFT couple therapy is contraindicated
Each element of the assessment will be illustrated with session recordings with English subtitles.
A few quotes from the participants of the first edition
“I’ve practiced EFT for over 6 years and even though I’ve grown in the model, I’ve often struggled with feeling confident in having a clear focus of my work with my couples. This training helped me get a clear understanding of how to develop a framework for my couples to help guide them more confidently in this process. I learned what to look for in the initial assessment and how to use it in helping couples better understand themselves and the process. This is what I needed to help me lay a strong foundation for my work. Thank you for this much needed information.”
“Of all the EFT workshops I have taken, this was the first that addressed in detail the components of the Initial Assessment, so vital to the whole process. The underlying theory, important considerations, goals, and specific areas to address were invaluable!”
“I have been to a lot of advanced workshops over the years, in addition to the Externship and Core Skills. None of the workshops went into as much depth on beginning sessions of therapy, particularly as it pertains to the individual sessions. This workshop did a great job of presenting a format for the feedback session following the individual sessions. They also addressed other concerns pertaining to the first four sessions of therapy. Beginning and experienced therapists can benefit from this workshop.”
“This training gave me the boost I needed to get excited to grow even more in my work with couples. Seeing the first 4 sessions as part of the assessment, and presenting it as such to new couples made sense, and offers the couples an opportunity to experience the therapy, and have more “Buy in” when they are asked after the feedback session if they are ready to do the work. Thank you Barbara and Beata!”
