About Me/Bio
Hello! I’m Hima, a UK-trained psychologist who works with families, couples, and individuals. I’m passionate about communication patterns, family attachment styles, and family dynamics. In my work, I focus on self-reflection, exploration, and building new narratives about past experiences. A problem is understood in the context of culture, circumstances, and relationships, and evidence-based methods are used to address them. Sessions would encourage curiosity about patterns in one’s own life and will progress at the client’s pace.
I received my training in Systemic Psychotherapy from King’s College, London. I am keen on understanding my client’s family of origin and early experiences. I received an M.Sc in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Media Studies, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Women’s health, and Sexuality. I trained with the NHS, London in providing services for early intervention in psychosis and with Healthcare Global, to work with patients and families battling cancer. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Analytical Therapy. I am a member of the Emirates Medical Association and Emirates Society for Mental Health.
